Fast-casual stir fry spot Honeygrow opens tomorrow in Fairfax City

Fast-casual stir fry chain Honeygrow is opening its 59th location tomorrow (Friday) at Fair City Mall (9600 N Main Street) in Fairfax City.

The company received a $25 million investment earlier this year and has been on a spree of new openings, with another location launching in Springfield in March. Honeygrow also signed a lease earlier this year for a restaurant at Barcroft Plaza in Lincolnia.

Amy DePaoli, director of marketing for Honeygrow, told FFXnow that part of the chain’s success has been differentiating itself from the salad or burger fast-casual fare more commonly found around Fairfax strip malls.

“We’re a different concept,” DePaoli said. “People can embrace health and feel energized instead of weighted down.”

DePaoli said the company is committed to having no freezers or microwaves at their locations.

The chain also offers several options for vegan and gluten-free diners. Nearly all of the sauces at the shop are vegan, and the rice noodles are gluten-free.

While the restaurant had a preview event today, it will officially open to the public tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. with a ribbon cutting at 10:15 a.m.

Other recent retail openings at Fair City Mall, which is anchored by Safeway and Cinema Arts Theatre, include J. Crew Factory and the juice chain South Block.
