A woman has been hospitalized following a crash outside Tysons West, police say.

Officers and medics were dispatched to Westwood Center Drive at Cornerside Blvd around 9:34 p.m. today (Wednesday) after a driver struck a pedestrian, according to the police scanner.

“The female patient is unconscious but breathing,” the dispatcher said, describing the vehicle as a gray SUV.

The woman was taken to a hospital in “life-threatening condition,” the Fairfax County Police Department says. The driver remained at the scene.

As of 10:24 p.m., Cornerside Blvd is shut down in both directions at the intersection, as Crash Reconstruction Unit detectives investigate the crash.

“Please seek an alternate route,” the FCPD said.
