Cold Stone Creamery is serving scoops in Fairfax City.
The ice cream chain opened a new location earlier this year at 9548-C Main Street in Turnpike Shopping Center, taking over the former home of Flippin’ Pizza.
It is Cold Stone’s sixth in Fairfax County, joining stores in Burke, Fair Oaks Mall, Herndon, Merrifield and Springfield. The chain’s Vienna location closed a couple of years ago.
Like its sibling stores across Northern Virginia, the Fairfax City location offers a wide variety of ice cream treats, with scoop sizes ranging from “Like It” (regular) to “Gotta Have It” (large). Customers can also select from a variety of sundaes, shakes, smoothies and more.
Open daily, the Fairfax City store’s operating hours range from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, but it’s open until midnight on Fridays and weekends.
Located at the corner of Main Street and Pickett Road, Turnpike Shopping Center is anchored by Ross Dress for Less, Pet Smart and Dollar Tree. Other dining options include Firehouse Subs, Milk and Honey, Sarku Japan, Chipotle and other fast-casual chains.
According to a site plan from Combined Properties, the shopping center’s landlord, it has two vacant spaces: a 1,600-square-foot suite adjacent to Cold Stone and a freestanding, 3,848-square-foot building where TD Bank used to be.
