A popular Northern Virginia donut chain will soon open in Vienna.
Minor renovations are underway on the forthcoming Texas Donuts at 167 Glyndon Street SE in the Glyndon Plaza shopping center. Signage recently posted across the storefront announces that the business is “coming soon,” though employees at another location didn’t know about a possible opening date.
Permits for updated equipment inside the kitchen of the business, including a range hood stationed over the donut fryer, have been issued by county officials in recent months.
An estimated $7,500 in renovations have been proposed for the storefront, which has been empty since the departure of MidnighTreats in September.
The Vienna location will be the fourth store for Texas Donuts, which brought “authentic, southern-style donuts” to Northern Virginia in the 2000s.
Customers can select from a wide variety of donuts, ranging from the traditional glazed and sprinkle-topped to the more unique, like donuts topped with Fruity Pebbles cereal.
Multiple other pastries, including the croughnut — a donut/croissant combo — and the head-sized Texas Donut, are also available.
Searching for savory options? Texas Donuts offers four different types of croissant-based breakfast sandwiches, as well as two different types of sausage kolaches.
Joining its counterparts in Centreville, Lorton and Manassas, the Vienna store will be open from 5 a.m. until 3 p.m. except on Tuesdays.
Also in the Glyndon Plaza shopping center, Blooming Spa and Nail appears to be opening a new nail salon at 155 Maple Avenue East next to Natta Thai.
Elsewhere in Vienna, Manita Music Center, which offers piano lessons and services, celebrated its grand opening at 345 Maple Avenue West with a ribbon-cutting ceremony yesterday (Monday).
