A popular bakery and cafe chain around the D.C. area is planning on opening its latest Fairfax-area location later this month.
Tatte Bakery & Cafe has targeted Aug. 27 to open its new cafe in Fairfax City, according to signage posted outside the building.
The new cafe is located at 11040 Main Street in the Kamp Washington shopping center, joining tenants like the PGA Tour Superstore, The Nail Bar and a wide variety of eateries.
No information about a possible grand opening for the store has been publicly released yet. An inquiry sent to the company went unanswered.
Founded in the Boston area back in 2007, Tatte now has more than 45 locations along the East Coast.
The Fairfax City location will be the brand’s fifth in Virginia, joining a spot at Reston Town Center as its second store in the Fairfax area. Plans to install a location in Falls Church are also ongoing.
Tatte offers a wide variety of traditional bakery and breakfast fare, including dozens of pastries, brownies, cookies and more.
Diners looking for a more substantial meal can choose from 19 different breakfast dishes — such as breakfast sandwiches and egg dishes — as well as sandwiches, salads, soups and more throughout the day.
On its drink menu, Tatte offers drip coffee, espresso, lattes, tea and more — 54 drinks in all.
When Tatte officially opens its doors, the cafe will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., according to Fairfax County’s permitting portal.
Also coming soon to the shopping center is Shake Shack, which will sit next door to the Tatte. No specific opening date for the burger shop has been announced, though interior renovation work was ongoing, as of Tuesday (Aug. 12).
