Though the weather is getting colder, Fairfax County’s Mason District hopes to get residents out to their favorite local eateries with the return of its nascent restaurant week campaign.
The second annual Mason District Restaurant Week launched yesterday (Monday) and will continue through Sunday (Oct. 26) with 17 participating establishments — almost twice as many as last year.
The idea for a restaurant week specific to the district that encompasses Annandale, Lincolnia, Bailey’s Crossroads and Seven Corners emerged out of conversations with local restaurant owners, who wanted a way to showcase the range of cuisine available in the area, Mason District Supervisor Andres Jimenez says.
Organized by Jimenez’s office and the Crossroads + Corners Coalition, the first iteration was held in September 2024 and featured nine restaurants, several of which are returning for 2025.
“The growth in participation this year shows how much pride and energy exists in our community,” Jimenez said in a statement to FFXnow. “I am most looking forward to visiting as many restaurants as possible and hearing from residents about their favorite meals, because it’s really about building connections and celebrating our shared culture and diversity.”
