Starting tomorrow (Tuesday), Vienna residents will have to travel a bit further to satisfy their Wendy’s cravings.
The fast food chain’s store in the neighborhood, located at 411 Maple Ave East, is closing after wrapping up service at midnight today (Monday), an employee confirmed to FFXnow.
Employees at the Vienna store will be relocated to neighboring Wendy’s locations, such as in Tysons, according to an employee.
The clock started ticking on the franchise’s days in Vienna when retail broker KLNB announced in September that Baskin Robbins and Dunkin’ have leased the building for a shared drive-thru restaurant.
Wendy’s has been in town since at least 1996, but the approximately 3,484-square-foot building appears to have been originally constructed in 1974 for a Roy Rogers, according to Fairfax County property records and a Connection profile of a longtime Vienna resident.
Construction on the new Dunkin’ and Baskin Robbins space is expected to start in early 2026, KLNB previously told FFXnow.
A nearby Wendy’s housed in Merrifield’s Gate House Plaza is also going to close in the near-future to make way for a Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers. No timetable has been publicly announced for that store’s closure, though a Raising Cane’s representative says the chain hopes to open in Merrifield in winter 2027.
