The latest Fairfax-area location for a chain of fast-casual seafood restaurants is expected to open next week.
California Fish Grill will open the doors of a nearly 3,000-square-foot eatery in Franconia (7003A Manchester Blvd) on Monday, Jan. 12, the restaurant announced.
Taking over a former Baja Fresh storefront at the Festival at Manchester Lakes, it will be the brand’s second restaurant in Fairfax County, following one that opened in Fairfax City last fall.
“We’re excited for the opportunity to continue growing California Fish Grill in the D.C. area,” CEO Bob Holden said in a press release. “Delivering high-quality, 100% sustainable seafood in a fast-casual atmosphere allows more people to enjoy healthy, flavorful meals every day.”
Founded in the 1990s in Southern California, the restaurant chain has long focused on serving sustainable, “responsibly-sourced” seafood.
“Our wild-caught fish are harvested through the least invasive means possible to ensure the ecosystem is preserved and to avoid catching unwanted species,” the brand’s website reads.
Included on the brand’s menu are a variety of different seafood options, including Atlantic salmon, shrimp, swai, rockfish and others. Diners can have those proteins served in a variety of different dishes, from bowls and tacos to salads and “grilled specialties.”
The new Franconia location will also feature a lobster roll and a wild crispy cod sandwich — both East Coast exclusives.
Starting Monday, the restaurant will be open daily Sunday to Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
