Update — Hershey Super Sweet Adventure announced in late February that its opening at Tysons Corner Center will be postponed “due to unexpected permitting delays.”
“We appreciate our guests’ understanding and apologize for any inconvenience. We are contacting ticket holders and will share our new opening date in the coming days,” the company said in a statement. “We look forward to welcoming families soon.”
Earlier: Tickets go on sale today (Thursday) for a forthcoming pop-up from the maker of Kisses, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and other popular candies.
Tysons Corner Center will welcome the Hershey Super Sweet Adventure beginning March 6, providing “an immersive experience filled with family-friendly fun” themed to many of Hershey’s popular candy brands.
Tickets for the pop-up, which start at $19.99, can be purchased online beginning at 10 a.m. today.
The immersive adventure, which is coming to the East Coast for the first time after drawing rave reviews in Chicago, features a variety of family-friendly, hands-on challenges inspired by Hershey brands, like Reese’s, Hershey’s Kisses, Twizzlers and Jolly Ranchers, among others.
The Reese’s Combination Station, for example, will see participants use a cannon to “load and launch ‘peanut butter’ balls into cups of all different sizes.”
“This immersive experience is exactly the kind of family-friendly attraction we love bringing to the center: fun, memorable and designed to bring people together,” Jesse Benites, director of property management for Tysons Corner Center, said. “We can’t wait for guests across the D.C. region to enjoy it when it debuts at our center.”
Unlike the Chicago iteration of the pop-up, the Tysons one will feature a new “grand finale experience,” allowing guests to personalize their own chocolate bar wrapper with a selfie and “other fun options.”
Plus, participants can take advantage of a retail shop featuring a wide selection of limited-edition merchandise. The store will be open to all shoppers, not just those who buy a ticket to the larger experience, according to a press release from Tysons Corner Center.
“With exciting environments, hands-on activities and plenty of opportunities for discovery, Hershey Super Sweet Adventure offers guests of all ages a chance to create memories with friends and family,” Original X Productions CEO Stacy Moscatelli said.
The pop-up will be located on the mall’s first floor near Macy’s. The 17,751-square-foot space has been undergoing nearly $500,000 in renovations since November, according to Fairfax County’s permitting portal.
