A venture capital firm that focuses on national security and technology companies is bouncing from one growing Reston development to another.

Currently based at Reston Town Center, Razor’s Edge Ventures will relocate its headquarters to the Row at Reston Station after signing a lease for approximately 15,000 square feet of space, property owner Comstock Companies announced Wednesday (Feb. 11).

The company’s new home will be located in the 13-story office building at 1800 Reston Row Plaza, one of two trophy office towers recently added to the mixed-use neighborhood near the Wiehle Metro station.

The other building — the 9-story 1870 Reston Row — will be fully occupied by the consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton, whose lease also includes approximately 100,000 square feet across three floors of 1800 Reston Row.

Comstock didn’t mention when Razor’s Edge will move in, but Booz Allen Hamilton is slated to begin building out its new headquarters this summer before arriving in fall 2027.

“Razor’s Edge represents exactly the kind of forward-thinking company we’re proud to welcome to Reston Station,” Comstock Chief Operating Officer Tim Steffan said in a press release. “Their work at the intersection of innovation and national security aligns perfectly with the caliber of tenants choosing Reston Station for its proximity to D.C., connectivity, and high-quality environment.”

Started in 2010, Razor’s Edge identifies and funds startups that seek to “solve significant challenges in national security and high-growth commercial markets,” according to its website. Its focus areas include cybersecurity, data science and infrastructure, new space technologies, artificial intelligence and more.

Companies it’s currently investing in range from Herndon-based Hawkeye 360, which provides geospatial data with an array of commercial satellites, and the information technology consultant Dark Wolf Solutions to the AI-driven pathology software platform Proscia and mPower Technology, which manufactures solar power cells.

Razor’s Edge reported raising $560 million last year to boost its investments in national security-centered businesses — a sum leaders anticipated would be fully spent by the end of 2026, the Washington Business Journal reported in September.

“Our work is centered on supporting management teams as they build enduring technology companies,” Razor’s Edge Managing Partner Mark Spoto said in Comstock’s press release. “The Row at Reston Station provides an environment that supports collaboration, accessibility, and thoughtful growth.”

Also home to a JW Marriott Hotel and Residences and the 419-unit BLVD Haley apartment building, Reston Row will add the restaurants Noku Sushi and Ebbitt House in the coming months, expanding a retail roster that currently features Tous les Jours and Vida Fitness.

The high-tech indoor mini golf venue Puttshack, however, was displaced by Booz Allen Hamilton.
