Farm-fresh burger chain Good Stuff Eatery to open Springfield location

A local restaurant brand that prioritizes farm-fresh ingredients is eyeing Springfield Plaza for its next location.

Good Stuff Eatery intends to open its first Fairfax County location this summer, deputy CEO Micheline Mendelsohn told FFXnow. “Coming Soon” signage has already appeared on the targeted storefront, located at 6418 Springfield Plaza.

The 2,450-square-foot space, nestled between The Container Store and Music & Arts, is slated to undergo at least $70,000 in renovations ahead of its opening, according to Fairfax County permits.

The Springfield restaurant’s menu is being tailored to the new location but will still feature “some old favorites,” Mendelsohn said.

Founded in 2008 by celebrity chef Spike Mendelsohn, who opened an initial location on Capitol Hill in D.C., Good Stuff Eatery’s offerings keep local and organic ingredients front and center.

“Each morning our chefs inspect our ingredients that are delivered daily, from farms to the prepared sauces our staff create, to make sure you’re getting the best ruby red tomato and that our barbecue sauce flavor is exact,” the chain says on its website. “Whenever possible, we buy local to support our community.”

At its six locations worldwide — including three in the D.C. area — Good Stuff Eatery serves a dozen different burgers, each made with farm-raised beef and a wide variety of vegetables plus other toppings. Southern-style fried chicken sandwiches are also a large part of the menu, with options for homemade blue cheese dressing, hot buffalo butter sauce and more.

Also popular are the brand’s hand-spun milkshakes, with flavors like toasted marshmallow, milky way malt and key lime pie. Each is made with freshly-made custard using organic milk and eggs.

Good Stuff’s restaurants also offer salads, hand-cut French fries and other sides.
