Fairfax County police are charging a man from Arlington County with burglarizing two different restaurants in the Tysons area more than half a year apart.
Back on Aug. 23, 2025, officers responded around 1:17 p.m. to a reported burglary at Pupatella Pizza (2980 District Avenue) in Merrifield’s Mosaic District, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
“An unknown suspect forced entry into the business through the rear door and stole alcohol,” the FCPD said today (Thursday) in a press release.
More recently, officers were dispatched on March 1 at approximately 8:15 p.m. to a burglary reported at Churasuko, the Japanese-Brazilian steakhouse that opened on the ground floor of the Lumen Apartments at 1755 Tysons Central Street in Tysons last December.
“An unknown suspect entered the restaurant through an unsecured door and stole cash from the register,” the FCPD said.
Detectives with the FCPD’s Criminal Investigations Division identified a 27-year-old man as the suspect in both burglaries based on surveillance footage and automated license plate readers that captured the vehicle he allegedly used.
The man was arrested on March 17 and taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, though he was subsequently released after paying a $5,000 bond.
Court records show the man is facing two felony charges of breaking and entering as well as a misdemeanor count of petit larceny for the Pupatella burglary.
Though the FCPD identified the man as a D.C. resident, his address is listed as Arlington in court records.
A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for June 2 in Fairfax County General District Court.
