
The Virginia State Police is on the lookout for a motorcyclist who allegedly fled a trooper after an attempted traffic stop for speeding on I-66.
The trooper tried to pull over the biker in the westbound I-66 Express Lanes near Monument Drive in the Fair Lakes area at approximately 6:06 p.m. yesterday (Monday), according to the VSP.
“The motorcyclist refused to stop, and a pursuit was initiated,” state police said. “The motorcyclist exited at Stringfellow Road, where he drove on the sidewalk, almost hit multiple cars, and continued to drive at a high rate of speed.”
According to scanner traffic, the motorcyclist “struck two vehicles” on Centreville Farms Road approaching Route 29. Officers with the Fairfax County Police Department joined the pursuit, but the rider was lost around Old Centreville Road near Route 28.
“The motorcycle was a black sports bike, with a rounded front and tail end, and two red round circular brake lights,” the VSP said. “The motorcyclist is described as a heavy set African-American man, with dreads, a black long sleeve shirts, black pants, and sneakers.”
