The Fairfax County Police Department has arrested an Annandale man in connection with reports of an indecent exposure and attempted abduction in Wakefield Park over the weekend.

Moises Rico Rosales, 35, was taken into custody yesterday (Tuesday) around 1:08 p.m. in the 4700 block of Americana Drive. He is charged with abduction with intent to defile as well as indecent exposure.

Police previously said that a man exposed his genitals to a woman walking on a trail inside the park around 1:40 p.m. Sunday (June 21). Even as officers were responding to the call about the indecent exposure, another woman called in to report that a man had stepped in front of her bicycle, forcing her to swerve around him and dismount.

According to police, the man attempted to pull the woman into the woods, but she was able to push him away. He allegedly continued to chase her as she ran away.

Police said that victim specialists from the department’s Major Crimes Bureau are continuing to provide assistance to the victims.

Rico Rosales was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and held without bond. He expected to appear in Fairfax County General District Court for a preliminary hearing on Aug. 26, online court records show.
