Noodles & Company has closed its Herndon-area restaurant, one of more than two dozen locations expected to shutter this year.
The fast-casual chain’s closure yesterday (Wednesday) at 2405 Centerville Road in the Village Center at Dulles leaves just a handful of open locations in Fairfax County. Some of the other locations closed in recent years include Chantilly, Vienna, and Hybla Valley.
The company — known for providing a wide range of noodle-based dishes from mac and cheese to spicy Korean steak noodles — had announced in January that it planned to close between 30 and 35 restaurants in 2026.
That decision came on the heels of another 42 closures in 2025. As of the end of December, the chain still included 340 company-owned restaurants and 83 franchise restaurants.
“Like many restaurant companies, we regularly evaluate our portfolio to ensure we are investing in the restaurants and markets with the strongest opportunities for long-term success,” a Noodles & Company spokesperson said when asked about the Herndon location’s closure by FFXnow.
More from the statement:
“While decisions like these are never easy, they are made thoughtfully and support our broader strategy to strengthen the business, improve financial performance, and position Noodles & Company for sustainable growth.
“We sincerely thank our Herndon employees and guests for dining with us over the years and appreciate the opportunity to have served this community. We will continue to share any confirmed future plans through our official channels.”
Noodles & Company’s website still lists 18 locations in Virginia, including in Fair Lakes, Fairfax City, Reston, Springfield and Idylwood.
The Reston location might not stick around for long. Retail broker CBRE has been advertising the 3,516-square-foot space in Plaza America as available for leasing for more than a year now, but Noodles & Company told FFXnow in May 2025 that it couldn’t confirm whether the franchise was among those slated for closure.
