The Japanese department store Teso Life plans to open a new store in Seven Corners.
Fairfax County planning documents show the retailer has applied to renovate the space at 6164 Arlington Blvd in a building formerly occupied by CVS inside the Willston 1 Centre.
The store, which sells everything from Asian imported foods and drinks to home goods, toys, collectibles and beauty products, launched its first Virginia store at 13860 Braddock Road in Centreville with massive crowds at a grand opening earlier this year. Teso Life also operates a store in Rockville, Maryland.
The company, which has 33 locations listed as open on its website, hopes to have 51 stores open across 18 states by the end of 2026. According to The Burn, at least one more new location will be in Northern Virginia at Sterling’s Sugarland Crossing shopping center.
The retailer did not respond to multiple requests for comment on the Seven Corners location or when it might open.
Doors propped open at the location last week revealed an interior space that appeared entirely bare for ongoing renovations. The outside of the building was covered with “coming soon” messages.
Plans submitted to the county — which have not been approved yet — call for a significant amount of work inside the 12,535 square foot space, including demolishing some of the interior walls and constructing new partitions, revising the sales and storage area layout, and electrical work.
