A Utah-based indoor golf simulator company plans to open a second location in Fairfax County, its ninth in Virginia.

Back Nine Golf has filed a permit to modify the 3,647-square-foot space at 11215 Route 29, Suite L, in the back area of the Fairfax Centre shopping plaza, near the Walmart just outside Fairfax City.

County records show the golfing venue is planning a $93,000 renovation that will furnish the space with four golf simulators and adjacent seating areas, an indoor putting green, a waiting room, a small retail shopping area, and office space. The storefront was previously occupied by Dragons Concord, a tabletop gaming center.

A website has been set up for the new location, with a waiting list for memberships, though one will not be required to book time with the golf simulator. According to the website, the location will offer 24/7 access, camps and clinics, tournaments, and various events such as birthday parties for players of all levels, including offerings for children.

The simulators will mimic dozens of courses, including PGA Tour locations and some of the most famous, such as St. Andrew’s in Scotland.

Back Nine Golf did not respond to requests for comment on the Fairfax location.

Launched five years ago with a single location in St. George, Utah, Back Nine announced in May that it will expand into Reston Town Center, with a 4,500-square-foot outpost at 1860 Reston Row Plaza. The company also has locations in Leesburg and Midlothian.
