Vienna police to crack down on stop sign violations

(Updated at 10:45 a.m. on 6/2/2022) Drivers who roll through stop signs aren’t going to be tolerated in the Town of Vienna.

Starting today (Wednesday), the Vienna Police Department has launched a new traffic safety campaign with a particular focus on stop sign violations, citing “a noticeable increase” in people failing to come to a complete halt at intersections.

The reported increase stems from both officer observations and “many resident complaints of stop sign violations taking place in town every day,” VPD Public Information Officer Juan Vasquez told FFXnow.

From the news release:

Officers will be out in force to ticket and remind drivers that when reaching a stop sign, a solid or flashing red light must come to a complete stop before entering the crosswalk, the intersection, or the stop line. Under certain circumstances, a police officer may cite a stop sign violation as reckless driving.

Drivers receiving a ticket for a stop sign or red-light violation will incur a fine and three demerit points assessed to their driving record.

The Vienna Police Department reminds drivers to drive defensively, courteously, and obey all traffic laws to make it to their destinations safely.

Virginia allows fines of up to $350 for traffic light violations.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
