A man was rushed to Inova Fairfax Hospital with critical injuries Tuesday afternoon after being stabbed at the McDonald’s in Bailey’s Crossroads.
Fairfax County police were dispatched to the fast food restaurant at 5603 Leesburg Pike around 2:19 p.m., according to police scanner traffic.
“The victim is a Hispanic male on the ground with a knife in his chest,” the dispatcher said, calling for a police helicopter and a K9 unit to be deployed.
The extra resources were called off as officers told the dispatcher at 2:21 p.m. that they had identified the suspect, who remained on scene and was soon taken into custody.
The victim was taken to a hospital with injuries considered life-threatening, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

Richard Fuentes Cordova, a 27-year-old Alexandria resident, has been charged with malicious wounding in connection to the stabbing, the FCPD announced in an update on Wednesday (Nov. 20).
With a preliminary investigation, detectives believe Cordova allegedly “approached the victim and stabbed him while inside the business,” police said, describing the stabbing as “unprovoked.” He’s now being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center without bond.
McDonald’s got Fairfax County’s approval last year to renovate its Bailey’s Crossroads restaurant, which opened in 1999. The property was previously the site of the original Roy Rogers.
