The Fairfax County Park Authority is inviting public comment on a plan to build three new pickleball courts at Greenbriar Park (4600 Stringfellow Road) near Fair Lakes.

The proposal aims to “address the growing demand for pickleball facilities” after the sport’s meteoric rise in recent years. The hope is also to cut down on community concerns about “shared court usage” at nearby parks.

According to the park authority:

The proposed plan includes removing the dual-use pickleball lines at Chalet Woods Park and establishing new, dedicated pickleball courts at Greenbriar Park. Greenbriar Park offers ample parking, restroom facilities, and is situated farther from residential areas, making it a suitable location for dedicated pickleball courts.

New pickleball courts have been springing up at parks around Fairfax County, from an indoor facility in Chantilly to a proposed court in Annandale.

A form for providing feedback is available through June 13.
