A driver is in critical condition after crashing into an electric pole on Hunter Mill Road in Oakton, police say.
The crash involved a single vehicle that ran into a utility pole just south of Lawyers Road. A Fairfax Alerts message suggests it occurred around 2 p.m.
The driver, an adult man, has been transported to a hospital with injuries described as life-threatening, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
As of press time, northbound Hunter Mill Road remains closed between Lawyers Road and Wilkins Road.
“Please use an alternate route while crews make repairs,” the FCPD said on social media at 3:16 p.m.
