Guests at Tysons Corner Center can now partake in candy-themed activities and pose for custom chocolate bar wrappers at the new Hershey’s experience, which held a grand opening last week.
Hershey’s Super Sweet Adventure opened Friday (April 24) on the mall’s first level near Macy’s, following a delay earlier this year. The storefront carries Hershey’s treats and a variety of branded collectibles and merchandise, while the backroom makes way for the ticketed experience: an interactive workshop with activities inspired by Hershey’s various confections.
Laid out across 17,751 square feet, the new experience was developed by Hershey in partnership with Original X Productions, which specializes in “location-based entertainment.” This is the Hershey-themed entertainment venue’s second location, following its debut in Chicago two years prior.
“It’s more than just a candy store,” said Kelly Easterling, executive vice president of design and development at Original X Productions. “It’s a complete, immersive, interactive experience. We invite you to come in with your friends and your family and celebrate what makes these Hershey treats so great, the twistiness of a Twizzler, the flavor punch of a Jolly Rancher, or the shareability of a Kiss.”
During the ticketed experience, guests can design their own Hershey Kiss foil and watch it appear on a digital screen, get a whiff of various Jolly Ranchers flavors at the “Flavor Intensification Station” and play a Connect Four-like game with a large, peanut butter cup-shaped board.
At Twizzlers’ “Twistology Hub,” participants can experience a twisty optical illusion by stepping inside a small pathway that mimics the extruders that twist the licorice.
At the end of the experience, participants take home a custom Hershey’s chocolate bar, wrapped in their own photo.
Tickets start at $19.99 on weekdays and $24.99 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
A private birthday party room is available for groups of up to 20 people, and buyout options are available for larger groups.
