After a month-long delay, Hershey is finally ready to unwrap its new interactive experience at Tysons Corner Center.
Perhaps to reward families for their patience, Hershey Super Sweet Adventure will let guests sample its goods starting this Friday (April 10) ahead of an official grand opening on April 24.
“Hershey Super Sweet Adventure invites families to step inside a whimsical workshop filled with hands-on games, multi-sensory activities and interactive fun celebrating some of The Hershey Company’s most iconic confections,” says a press release announcing the new opening date.
Developed by The Hershey Company in partnership with Original X Productions, which has also created entertainment pop-ups centered on “Friends,” “The Office” and the Harry Potter franchise, Hershey Super Sweet Adventure originally launched in Chicago in fall 2024 before targeting Tysons Corner Center for its East Coast debut.
Located in a 17,751-square-foot storefront on the mall’s first floor near Macy’s, the attraction was originally expected to open in early March, but the unveiling had to be put on hold due to permitting delays.
People who purchased tickets based on the initial opening date of March 6 “were all contacted and either refunded or rescheduled,” a spokesperson confirmed to FFXnow.
Among the sweets-themed activities to look forward to are a candy bar, flavor intensification and combination stations, and a Twistology Hub for Twizzler fans.
Hershey Super Sweet Adventure will offer also some new features in Tysons that weren’t available in Chicago, including “a playful celebration” of Bubble Yum Bubble Gum and an opportunity to personalize a Hershey’s milk chocolate bar wrapper.
The wrapper customization station will be in a retail store with limited-edition merchandise and collectibles that’s open to all shoppers, not just ticket buyers.
Tickets are now on sale, including for several preview dates. Prices start at $24.99 for Fridays and weekends, and at $19.99 during the rest of the week, though the attraction appears to be closed on most Tuesdays.
Bundles and party packages are also available.
Tysons Corner Center owner Macerich previously described the Hershey pop-up as “exactly the kind of family-friendly attraction” it’s interested in bringing to the mall, which has found success in recent years with an increased emphasis on entertainment-related retail.
“We can’t wait for guests across the D.C. region to enjoy it when it debuts at our center,” Macerich Assistant Vice President of National Operations Jesse Benites said in a press release in January.
The mall also has a store from Labubu maker Pop Mart and a more interactive concept from Dick’s Sporting Goods in the works.
Signs have also appeared for a DIY slime bar from Sloomoo Institute in the former Paul Mitchell Beauty School space near Nordstrom. According to the Washington Business Journal, the “slime children’s museum” will have two levels and include a retail store, though no opening time frame has been announced yet.
