Tributes to Bruce Springsteen, Prince and other iconic American musicians are among the highlights of Reston Station’s upcoming “Summerbration” event series.
Organized by developer Comstock Companies and Reston Community Center (RCC), the 2026 series kicks off this week with complimentary Beloved Yoga classes tomorrow (Wednesday) at 6-7 p.m. and the Pat Benatar tribute band All Fired Up opening a season of Fab Fridays Live Music on Friday (May 29) at 7:30 p.m.
This year’s Summerbration will nod to the nationwide commemorations of the U.S.’s 250th anniversary with a special “Red, White & Boom!” series leading up to the Fourth of July. The festivities will begin on July 2 at 5:30 p.m., with headliner Bruce in the USA taking the stage at 1800 Reston Row Plaza at 7:30 p.m. and fireworks capping off the evening at 9:15 p.m.
“Festivities will include appearances by the iconic Budweiser Clydesdales, a nostalgic ice cream truck, a splash pad, lawn games, photo booths, face painting, DJs, themed food and beverage experiences, and much more,” Comstock said in a press release.
The celebration continues with The Prince Project on July 3 at 7:30-9 p.m. and The Darby Brothers, a rock cover band, on July 4 from 5:30-7 p.m., followed by a screening of the movie “The Sandlot” with an interactive, inflatable baseball diamond.
“We are honored to have Reston Station play a key role in helping the community celebrate America 250 and are extremely excited for the incredible roster of events we have once again lined up for this summer,” Comstock Chief Marketing Officer Tracy Schar said.
Anyone who isn’t able to stop by Reston Station for the “Red, White & Boom!” kick-off will have another chance to see Bruce in the USA when the tribute band to The Boss returns on Sept. 4, playing this time at 1900 Reston Metro Plaza from 7:30-9 p.m.
The regular Summerbration season will feature live music on Fridays at 7:30-9 p.m. at 1900 Reston Metro Plaza, movie screenings on Saturdays at 6:30-9 p.m. at 1800 Reston Row Plaza, and complimentary fitness classes:
- Beloved Yoga: 1900 Reston Metro Plaza on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-7 p.m., starting May 27 through Sept. 2
- Trampoline Fitness: hosted by Vida Fitness on Tuesdays from 6-7 p.m. at 1800 Reston Row Plaza, from June 2 through Sept. 1
- Pop Up Zumba: led by Rochi B Fitness on May 31 and Aug. 15 from 11 a.m.-noon at 1900 Reston Metro Plaza
Highlights of the Fab Friday Live Music concerts include a Silent Dance Party on Sept. 11 from 7-8:30 p.m. and a Dolly Parton tribute from Karen as Dolly as the season’s closer on Sept. 25 at 7:30-9 p.m. The shows include a pop-up bar, photo booth and “family-friendly festivities.”
Focused on family-friendly features, such as “Cars” on July 11 and “Minions” on Aug. 1, the “All-American Movie Magic & More” screenings will often be accompanied by themed activities and giveaways. For example, kicking off the series on June 6, “Rudy” viewers can snag a mini football, while the final screening on Aug. 29 of “Pitch Perfect” will be preceded by karaoke.
All Summerbration events are free, and up to three hours of complimentary parking at Reston Station will be offered to attendees.
“Reston Community Center is proud to continue its partnership with Comstock to bring Summerbration to the community each year,” RCC Board of Governors Chair Bev Cosham said. “With the added significance of America 250, this year’s programming offers an even more meaningful opportunity for neighbors to come together and celebrate through music, shared experiences, and community connection.”
