The latest Fairfax-area location for a chain of fast-casual seafood restaurants is expected to open next week.
California Fish Grill will open the doors of a nearly 3,000-square-foot eatery in Franconia (7003A Manchester Blvd) on Monday, Jan. 12, the restaurant announced.
An array of boulders recently placed on a field at Roundtree Park (3320 Annandale Road) in West Falls Church is being removed, the Fairfax County Park Authority says.
The appearance of dozens of rocks in late December alarmed residents and park visitors, who frequently use the open field for soccer and other recreational activities.

Fair Oaks Mall will welcome the second chapter of a local Jamaican restaurant later this month.
Jas & Fam Caribbean Flavor will celebrate its grand opening in the mall (11709L Fair Oaks Mall) on Jan. 17, following the closure of its restaurant at 3850 Blenheim Blvd in Fairfax City last September.

Bill Limiting FOIA Costs Returns — State Sen. Tysons Hotel Acquired — “Growing Virginia investment company SAK Developer has bought its third local extended-stay hotel in the last 20 months, bringing its hotel portfolio to seven. The company paid $37.5 million for the Embassy Suites by Hilton Tysons Corner at 8517 Leesburg Pike in December, according to public records.” Built in 1984, the hotel was renovated in 2018 by its previous owner, Nobel Investment Group. New Challenger to Rep. Beyer — “Daniel Gray, an Arlington resident and energy and sustainability program manager, announced yesterday (Sunday) that he is seeking the Democratic Party’s nomination for Virginia’s 8th Congressional district.” He is the fourth candidate looking to unseat incumbent Rep. Reston Sculpture Offers Taste of Italy — “No need to travel, we have Italy at home!
