A popular summer camp in Lake Barcroft remains closed days after a storm took out its electricity last Thursday (June 19).
Though Dominion Energy has restored power to nearly all of the 70,000-plus affected residents and businesses, a handful of customers are still dealing with outages — including Congressional Camp, which shared on Friday (June 20) that the storm had taken out a transformer for its 40-acre campus at 3229 Sleepy Hollow Road.
As anyone who stepped outside this morning knows, the summer’s first heat wave is already taking hold of Fairfax County.
The National Weather Service has issued Extreme Heat Warnings that will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and tomorrow (Monday and Tuesday), prompting Fairfax County to activate cooling centers as part of its emergency heat plan.
Game on! The Tysons Trek & Treat Fall Challenge returns this week, running October 2 through November 1. Participants can walk, bike, or roll through Tysons while checking in at stops, earning points, and redeeming them for prizes.

As you make your way through Tysons, be on the lookout for Trek & Treat check-in stickers posted at stops along each route. Scan the QR code on each sticker to check in, earn points, and keep moving toward your next prize.

An analysis by Point2Homes released in mid-June places three Fairfax communities among the top 10 in the D.C. region for the percentage of renters compared to overall housing:

Tysons Mall Shooter Back in Court — “Noah Settles, known as No Savage, served his three-year sentence but has a 10-year suspended sentence hanging over his head [after violating his probation].
