A pedestrian was taken to a hospital earlier this afternoon (Tuesday) following a crash near the Vienna Community Center.
Police officers and a medic were dispatched to Park Street SE at Cherry Street SE at around 1:22 p.m. after a witness called 911 for what was initially described as a pedestrian hit-and-run crash with an injury, according to the Town of Vienna Police Department (VPD) and scanner traffic.
A longtime favorite with local foodies will return this month.

Tavon Tykee Ferguson is accused of second-degree murder and use of a firearm while committing a felony in the death of 21-year-old Jaylin Hartless. Prosecutors say that Ferguson and a second man, Tavon Lang of Alexandria, were trying car doors in the Woodlawn area when they came upon Hartless sitting in his car.

Digital Protections for Children Presented to State Lawmakers — “On Wednesday, lawmakers considered a measure that would further require app store providers like Google and Apple to independently audit their products’ age ratings and content descriptions. Fairfax County is leading solar panel installations and signups from a solar program backed by Virginia’s governor as homeowners look for ways to address rising electricity costs.
Switch Together, a bulk purchasing initiative to connect residents to solar installers, was recently expanded from Northern Virginia to other parts of the state. It was previously only open in Fairfax and Arlington counties, with Alexandria joining the roster last summer.
Home sale prices across the D.C. region grew at about half the national rate in the second quarter of 2026, but local home values remained well above the national average.
The D.C. metro area recorded a 0.9% increase in year-over-year median sales price in the April to June period, according to figures reported by the National Association of Realtors.
