Two teenagers are facing criminal charges after they were found with guns and drugs in a vehicle that had been reported stolen, Fairfax County police say.

Officers were called to the Fair Oaks Mall parking lot near Macy’s at approximately 4:44 p.m. last Thursday, Jan. 16 after a woman reported that her 2013 Hyundai sedan had been stolen, the Fairfax County Police Department said in a news release.

An Oakton-based doctor pleaded guilty on Wednesday (Jan. 15) to improperly prescribing opioid and amphetamine pills after failing to properly assess patients.

David Allingham, who owns Oakton Primary Care Center, authorized renewals of medications without providing physical examinations of patients between at least April 2019 and January 2024, according to the Department of Justice.

A Maryland man has been convicted of cocaine possession after the drug was found in a cake he transported from Colombia to Dulles International Airport last spring.

Gildo Ricci, a 69-year-old Peruvian citizen who legally resides in Rockville, had 2.07 kilograms of cocaine concealed in food that customs agents discovered in his luggage on April 25, 2024, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia.

A teacher at Falls Church High School was arrested this week after she allegedly sold vape cartridges to numerous students.

Kaitlyn Cresent was taken into custody on Monday (Dec. 30) after investigators determined she had sold the vape cartridges — which contained nicotine and THC — to four different students, the Fairfax County Police Department announced yesterday (Friday).

U.S. District Judge Michael Nachmanoff sentenced Jahrulle Terrence Whyte t0 10 years or 120 months in prison yesterday (Thursday) after the 29-year-old Glen Burnie resident pleaded guilty earlier this year to distributing and possessing with the intent to distribute over 400 grams of fentanyl.

A former Fairfax County sheriff’s deputy will serve six years in prison for distributing drugs to a jail inmate and to women who engaged in prostitution at an apartment he leased, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia says.

The sentence was handed down yesterday (Wednesday) after Robert Theodore Sanford Jr., 37, pleaded guilty in June to conspiring to distribute cocaine and opioids, including fentanyl and suboxone, and to providing contraband in prison.
