The county’s headliner is the annual Earth Day Fairfax festival, which has relocated to Lake Fairfax Park (1400 Lake Fairfax Drive) in Reston this year after previously taking place at the Sully Historic Site in Chantilly.

Taste of Vienna is set to return this weekend, putting a spotlight on local restaurants while also raising funds for the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department (Vienna VFD).

The 13th annual food festival will take over the fire department’s parking lot at 400 Center Street South from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. this Saturday (April 25).

Several Fairfax County bookstores are participating in an annual bookstore crawl program in Northern Virginia this spring.

The third annual NoVa+ Bookstore Crawl Passport program kicks off this Saturday (April 25) at 18 independent bookstores across Northern Virginia, including Bards Alley and Big Planet Comics in Vienna, Scrawl Books in Reston and Fonts Books & Gifts in McLean.

From a new beer garden to newborn lambs, George Washington’s Mount Vernon is rolling out events for spring and the country’s 250th anniversary celebration.

The 500-acre estate, which served as Washington’s home before and after his presidency, is gearing up for warmer weather for the first time since reopening the centerpiece mansion in December after a two-year renovation project.

Registration is now open for the sixth annual Tour de Hunter Mill community bicycle ride set for Sunday, May 3. Participants can choose between riding two scenic routes — 11 or 19 miles — designed to accommodate both beginners and experienced cyclists.

This year’s event will highlight Vienna, according to Hunter Mill District Supervisor Walter Alcorn, who started the event in 2021.

Entering the multipurpose room at the Vienna Community Center last Friday afternoon (April 17) was like stepping into a time capsule.

For an open house to celebrate the facility’s 60th anniversary, the Town of Vienna’s Parks and Recreation Department set up displays on one side of the room covered with nostalgia-triggering newspaper clippings and photographs, many of them provided by local residents.

The county will unveil a series of unique craft beverages to commemorate the U.S.’s 250th anniversary, starting this Sunday (April 19) with the launch of a pair of new wines developed by Fairfax County’s two wineries.

A food truck festival is parking at Springfield Town Center today (Friday), potentially drawing thousands of visitors over its weekend-long stay.

Foodees Fest will bring more than 40 food trucks and vendors, along with an artisan market, to the mall, starting today from 1-9 p.m.
