Man Dies After Crash in Oakton — “A 78-year-old man has died from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash that occurred at 2:01 p.m. on March 30 in Oakton. Thomas Peregoy of Alexandria was driving eastbound on Lawyers Road near Kedge Drive when his 2014 Toyota Tacoma drifted off the roadway to the right, striking a tree head on.” [FCPD]

A new kind of outdoor theater is coming to fruition in Reston Town Center this spring.

As promised last year, the Herndon-based NextStop Theatre, Reston Community Center, and the Reston Town Center Association (RTCA) will debut a contemporary spin on William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at Reston Town Square Park.

Life Sentences Recommended in McLean Murder Case — “A Fairfax County jury delivered a guilty verdict Monday against a woman accused of killing her own mother and sister in 2017. Megan Hargan, 35, was convicted on two counts of first-degree murder, and two counts of using a firearm in committing a felony.” [WUSA9]

Great Falls Fire Caused by Garage Door Opener — A house fire in the 9900 block of Deer Pond Drive on March 22 was caused by “an electrical event involving wiring to a garage door opener,” Fairfax County Fire and Rescue investigators say. The fire didn’t result in any injuries or displacements, but it caused approximately $87,500 in property damages. [FCFRD]

FCPD Officer Found Not Guilty in Taser Incident — “A jury found a Fairfax County, Virginia, police officer not guilty of using excessive force against a man in a June 2020 incident caught on body camera. The officer, Tyler Timberlake, who is white, had faced three misdemeanor assault and battery charges for tasering Lamonta Gladney, who is Black.” [NBC4]

Community Members Rally in Support of FCPS Librarians — “Nearly 70 people participated in a rally to support school librarians March 24 before a school board meeting at Luther Jackson Middle School. At the meeting, several people attacked librarians for supporting LGBTQ students’ rights.” [Annandale Today]

Greenheart Juice Shop has survived its first year in Vienna, despite the challenges of opening a new store in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.

To celebrate the milestone, the business will throw a party this weekend (March 26-27) with free fitness classes, cookie and dog treat pop-up shops, a “mocktail” brunch, musical performances, and a raffle.

The Town of Vienna hosts dozens of events every year, from annual festivities like ViVa Vienna to unique occasions like last year’s Virginia State Little League Tournament.

A familiar cartoon character will swing by Tysons Corner Center this weekend, with a slew of new merchandise in tow.

The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck will set up shop in the mall’s Plaza at 1961 Chain Bridge Road from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday (March 26), marking its first appearance in Fairfax County since March 2021.

The Taste of Springfield festival is returning for a fifth year on June 4, bringing food vendors, businesses, and activities to the Springfield Town Center.

The festivities will last from noon to 5 p.m. in the parking lot nearest Frontier Drive (near the Target and Nordstrom Rack). In addition to food vendors and exhibitors, the event boasts a beer garden, live bands, and local youth entertainment.

Tysons residents and visitors have another month to revel in artwork from the Sistine Chapel.

The production company behind “Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition,” which features reproductions of the artist’s ceiling paintings, announced today (Wednesday) that the exhibit will now remain in Tysons Corner Center through April 17.
