As Memorial Day nears, grills will be heating up across America, including at the new Big Buns Damn Good Burgers in Vienna.

The rapidly expanding Northern Virginia burger chain will open its location in the town to customers next Tuesday (May 17) after months of pandemic-related delays. Founder Craig Carey had previously expressed hope for a fall 2021 launch.

Big Buns Damn Good Burgers has big plans in store for the Town of Herndon.

The burger joint plans to open up a roughly 1,200-square-foot location at 1142 Elden Street in the third quarter of this year, according to a company representative for Thompson Hospitality, a food service management company.

Crust Pizzeria Napoletana has opened in the Town of Herndon at 360 Elden Street, bringing its pizzas — made in a traditional wood-burning oven shipped from Naples — to life.

This is the second location for the business. The first opened in Tysons nearly eight years ago.

Roaming Rooster has opened in Burke.

The restaurant, which serves Nashville-style chicken, replaced space formerly occupied by Burger King (6417 Shiplett Blvd.). It had a brief soft opening before an official announcement on Friday (April 8).

No matter how many times the name and owners change, the ground-floor restaurant in the office building at 226 Maple Avenue West seems destined to serve Thai cuisine.

Following in the steps of Tara Thai and the recently departed Tom Yum Thai, the newly opened Burapa THAI & Bar comes from a face familiar to local diners: co-owner Bo Boonyaket was the owner and chef at I-Thai’s Side Street & Sushi Bar in Tysons until it shuttered last year.
