(Updated at 2:10 p.m.) Opening day is on the horizon for South Block’s new McLean cafe.

The local juice and smoothie chain will open its latest location at 8 a.m. on Monday in the Chesterbrook Shopping Center (6246 Old Dominion Drive), according to a spokesperson and the website.

(Updated at 4:10 p.m.) In two weeks, a new grocery store will finally open in Penn Daw’s South Alex development.

Aldi is opening its newest location at 6218 N. Kings Hwy on Thursday, March 2, the company announced today. It will be Aldi’s eighth Fairfax County store.

Construction is underway on a new Pottery Barn on a prominent street corner in the Mosaic District.

No signs indicating the store’s identity have been posted yet, but the home furniture company has filed for a commercial alterations permit to renovate the space at 2905 District Avenue, Suite 100.

MidnighTreats and its softball-sized cookies are back in the Town of Vienna.

The business will potentially roll out its large, plant-based cookies this weekend with its new bakery at 167 Glyndon Street SE, fulfilling a dream that owner and Vienna resident Johnny Nguyen had since he started baking in his mom’s house.

(Updated at 11:25 a.m.) Barnes & Noble is turning a page on its history at The Spectrum at Reston Town Center.

The company plans to open a location in the spring of 2023, 10 years after shuttering its location in the same shopping center at 11816 Spectrum Center. It will occupy nearly 28,000 square feet of space in the shell vacated by Office Depot. (Correction: The previous Barnes & Noble at The Spectrum closed in 2013, not 15 years ago as initially reported.)

October is drawing to a close, but Tysons Corner Center still has a few new retailers to unveil this month, just before the holiday shopping rush gets underway.

On the mall’s second level next to Brooks Brothers, the online clothing company Everlane will open its 11th brick-and-mortar location — and its second in the D.C. area — on Thursday (Oct. 27).

Venchi Fine Italian Chocolates officially opened its new chocolate and gelato shop at Tysons Corner Center around noon today (Wednesday), slightly behind the late summer opening anticipated when the store was first announced.

Duck Donuts’ Springfield location will open this weekend with offerings of free donuts.

The fast-growing, North Carolina-based doughnut chain has set Saturday (Oct. 22) as the opening date for its Old Keene Mill Shopping Center shop at 8424 Old Keene Mill Road. It is in a 970-square-foot space that was previously the home of Exquisite Jewelers and next to Mezeh Mediterranean Grill.
