One of the longest-standing restaurants in Vienna has emerged triumphant from the 2024 NoVA Breakfast Wars.
Vienna Inn was declared the winner yesterday (Tuesday) of the bracket-style competition organized by Northern Virginia Magazine, which invited its readers to vote for their favorite place to grab a morning meal out of 32 selected contenders from around the region.
Fairfax County has gained a couple spots in an annual ranking of the healthiest communities in the U.S.
The county snagged 14th place, up from 17th in 2022, in U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 rankings of the nation’s healthiest communities. It came in higher than Fairfax City (no. 15) and Arlington County (no. 19) but couldn’t beat Falls Church City, which claimed the top spot.
Fortune magazine has named Chantilly the third-best place for families to live out of 2,000 cities across the U.S.
This is the first time that Chantilly has appeared in the annual rankings, which began with 25 locations in 2022. The 2023 and 2024 rankings expanded to 50 communities — one from each state — with Alexandria representing Virginia last year.

Acknowledging that “some of the year’s coolest spots…debuted in the Virginia suburbs,” Washingtonian ranked Joon at no. 23 on its 2024 list of the “100 Very Best Restaurants” in the region. Opened on June 13, 2023, the Tysons-based Persian restaurant was the only Fairfax County spot to be ranked.
