A shooting in Herndon earlier this month remains under investigation, the Fairfax County Police Department says.

Several community members reported hearing gunshots around 5:31 a.m. on April 16, drawing police to the 2100 block of Astoria Circle, just outside the Town of Herndon’s limits. Upon arriving, officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.

A memorial for the late 19-year-old Virginia Tech student Mary Read has been relocated and enhanced with greenery.

The Annandale resident was one of 32 people killed on April 16, 2007, in the shooting at the university.

A 19-year-old Falls Church resident and an unidentified 17-year-old have been charged with murder after a shooting in West Falls Church last fall led to the death of 73-year-old Nelson Alexander Sr., Fairfax County police announced today (Monday).

Timothy Kashawn Bradshaw Robinson served as the “getaway driver” in a “botched robbery” at a Wells Fargo walk-up ATM in the 2900 block of Annandale Road, according to Fairfax County Police Department officials.

A person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries last night (Monday) after a shooting in Annandale, Fairfax County police said in a tweet.

Fairfax County Police Department said the shooting occurred in the 4000 block of Wadsworth Court, and they believe the suspect left the area in a car.

A Reston woman was shot and killed by a Loudoun County sheriff’s deputy on Friday, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Faubricia Vitraux Gainer, 36, was shot after she allegedly ignored deputy commands to drop her weapon at the entrance of an apartment on the 46600 block of Ellicott Square shortly after 4 a.m.

No Charges Against Officer in Lorton Shooting — “The commonwealth’s attorney for Fairfax County, Virginia, isn’t going to file charges against the police officer who shot a man in a van in Lorton last month. (Updated at 7:10 p.m.) Vienna police have identified a suspect in last summer’s fatal shooting at the Vienna Park apartment complex.

Andrew Gordiyenko, 20, from the Vienna area was arrested around 1 p.m. yesterday (Monday) and charged with involuntary manslaughter for allegedly shooting 21-year-old Matthew Chadwick on June 10, the Vienna Police Department announced today (Tuesday).

Herndon police are investigating a shooting after a person was transported with injuries not believed to be life-threatening last night (Sunday).

Officers responded to the 700 block of Elden Street to investigate after a report of a shooting, the Herndon Police Department tweeted around 10:50 p.m.
