Dozens of townhomes are under construction on the former site of Reston’s Lake Anne Fellowship House.
Developer Tri Pointe Homes opened sales for its Lake Anne Towns development this past Saturday (Aug. 24), welcoming over 50 different groups to a model house at 1641 Fellowship Square for tours, a spokesperson told FFXnow.
“We’re excited to introduce Lake Anne Towns, our first community in Reston,” Brad Blank, president of Tri Pointe’s D.C. metro division, said. “We’re proud to be part of this vibrant and growing area, offering luxury new construction townhomes as Reston continues to expand and gain popularity.”
The townhouses make up one half of the Lake Anne House redevelopment that the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved in 2018. Built in the 1970s, the apartment complex for seniors consisted of two buildings at 11448 and 11450 North Shore Drive.
One of the buildings was replaced with a new Lake Anne House, a 240-unit apartment building for low-income seniors that opened in September 2022. The remaining building was demolished that fall, and the nonprofit developers Fellowship Square Foundation and Enterprise Community Development sold the land to Tri Pointe for the planned market-rate townhouses.
Tri Pointe began developing the land in September 2023, and construction on the first of 36 townhomes started in March.
According to the developer, the townhouses will come in three designs: Astor, which will be 2,251 square feet with three to four bedrooms; Lenox, a 2,273-square-foot design with three to five bedrooms; and Sutton, which will be 2,659 square feet with three to five bedrooms.
All of the units will have three floors and one or two-bay, front-loading garages with an option to add a rooftop terrace. Starting prices are expected to range from $859,900 for the Astor plan to over $1 million for the Sutton houses.
The neighborhood will feature three publicly accessible pocket parks and a dog park and exercise area, Tri Pointe Homes said.
“Our vision of Lake Anne Towns was to bring the unique opportunity to purchase new townhomes in Reston,” the developer said by email. “The community is in an ideal location, steps away from Lake Anne Plaza and walking distance to Reston Town Center.”
Tri Pointe also noted that the community will have “convenient access” to the Wiehle and Reston Town Center Metro stations, though Fairfax County is still working to bridge gaps in the local transportation network to reduce the reliance on cars for traveling between the Metro stations and neighborhoods like Lake Anne.
The first Lake Anne Towns homes could be ready for move-ins as soon as this October, per Tri Pointe’s website, but construction on the final units isn’t expected to finish until March 2026.
