At least one gunshot was reportedly fired at apartments in Tysons Towers, a senior living community off of Gosnell Road near the Greensboro Metro station.

Police officers responded to the 8500 block of Tyspring Street in Tysons at 7:58 p.m. last Friday (Nov. 22) after receiving a call for a “missile” fired into an occupied dwelling, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

“The complainant reported that a hall window on the 4th floor was damaged,” the FCPD public affairs bureau told FFXnow. “The complainant believed the window was damaged by a bullet. Officers responded and a located shell casing from a firearm.”

No injuries were reported, though a poster who shared the incident on NextDoor said “residents are very scared.”

The incident remains under review by detectives from the FCPD’s Criminal Investigation Division, the department says.

Located at 8500 Tyspring Road, the Tysons Towers Apartments are home to adults aged 62 and older as well as individuals with disabilities. The waitlist for the 275 units is currently closed, per the property’s website.

The apartments are owned by the Fairfax Education Association Retirement Housing Corporation, which asked the county to confirm last year that it could add more parking.
