Madison among multiple teams with all-region football selections

Players from the Concorde District and region champion Madison Warhawks were among those chosen to the all-6D North Region football team

Madison had three first-team selections on offense with one on second team, and six first-teamers on defense.

Making first team on offense were quarterback Cael Yates, lineman Teddy Lewis and Dominic Knicely. Knicely was chosen as the first-team Player of the Year, All-Purpose Player of the Year and kick returner.

Fullback Matthew Weiler made second team.

Chosen first-team defense from Madison were linemen Caden Green and Matthew Vojta, linebackers Jack Ambrusz and Luke Salvosa, defensive back T.J. George and Knicely as the kick returner.

Madison’s Justin Counts was chosen as the first-team Coach of the Year.

Players from nine other Fairfax County schools had players selected to all-region teams.

From Westfield High School, Emerson St. Germain was the first-team center on offense. Making second team were lineman Alex Pairel, tight end Hayden Thompson, runningback Kennedy Duda and place-kicker Will Wiemann. First-team on defense from Westfield were linebacker and Player of the Year Troy Lucas and defensive back Connor Morin. Wesley Flamer was a second-team linebacker.

From Herndon, lineman Casey Speak, wide receiver Brayden Humpherys and place-kicker Logan Lopez made first-team on offense. The lone second-teamer was runningback Ethan Buhler.

First-team defensive players from Herndon were lineman Nana Appouch, defensive back Humpherys and punter Lopez. Second-team choices were lineman Khaleel Gbey, linebacker Donnie Willson and punt returner Humpherys.

From Langley, Josh Tyner was a first-team offensive lineman and Robert Roncskevitz the same as a runningback. Alex Saunders was a second-team wide receiver. On defense, Roncskevitz was a second-team linebacker and defensive back Ellington Roane also was a second-teamer.

From McLean, Carter Brown was a first-team linebacker on defense.

From South Lakes, Xavier Swain was a first-team lineman on offense, with Nathan Deglel the second team all-purpose player on defense.

From Oakton, Wesley Lattus was a second-team lineman on offense and Deylen Jones a second-team defensive back.

Chantilly had first-team wide receiver Garrett Carper and second-team runningback Charlie Boucher and offensive lineman Abdulai Kargbo. On defense, Ryan Vail was a first-team linebacker and Boucher a second-team punter.

Centreville High had Jahan Denny as a second-team wide receiver on offense and, on defense, Menyelek Pilgrim a first-team defensive back and Lucas Lovelace a second-team defensive lineman.

From Marshall, Anders Peterson was a first-team offensive lineman, Ethan Lebkisher was a second-team runningback with Josh Paine a second-team kick returner. On defense, Oliver Smith was a second-team lineman.
