Football players from multiple Fairfax schools chosen all-state

Players from multiple Fairfax County football teams, including the region-champion Lake Braddock Bruins and Madison Warhawks, recently were honored as Virginia High School League Class 6 first- or second-team all-state selections.

From Madison, senior slotback Dominic Knicely earned the biggest award as the Offensive Player of the Year.

Also from Madison, senior lineman Teddy Lewis made first-team on offense and senior lineman Caden Green and senior linebacker Jack Ambrusz were chosen first-team on defense, with senior quarterback Cael Yates and kickoff returner Knicely making second-team on offense, and senior defensive back T.J. George and punt returner Knicely second-teamers on defense.

Leading Lake Braddock’s selections were first-teamers Zach Hibner (junior tight end) and Kai Austin (senior wide receiver) on offense and seniors Trent Pane (lineman) and Xavier Main (linebacker) first-team on defense. Chosen second-team from Lake Braddock was senior lineman Titus Akol on offense.

West Springfield Spartans’ senior runningback Mark-Anthony Whyte made first-team on offense, as did Herndon Hornets’ senior place-kicker Logan Lopez.

West Potomac senior punt returner Grant Maloney made first-team on defense.

Others chosen second-team on offense were Westfield Bulldogs’ senior center Emerson St. Germain, Fairfax Lions’ junior lineman Davon Tolson, Hayfield Hawks’ senior runningback Jeff Overton Jr. and Westfield senior runningback Kennedy Duda.

Other players making second-team on defense were South County Stallions’ senior lineman Hunter Malecki, Westfield senior linebacker Troy Lucas, West Springfield junior linebacker Brady Davies, Herndon senior defensive back Brayden Humpherys, Centreville Wildcats’ senior defensive back Menyelek Pilgrim and Lewis Lancers’ senior punter Wilson Sanchez.
