A new restaurant aiming to blend popular American dishes with classic Afghan flavors has begun serving diners.
Noosh Grill kicked off its soft opening at 9573 Braddock Road in Twinbrooke Centre in the Kings Park West neighborhood today (Wednesday), bringing a family-inspired Halal eatery to the area.
“[The owners] are Afghan Americans who grew up surrounded by the warmth of family meals,” said a spokesperson for Federal Realty, the shopping center’s owner. “They created Noosh, a place filled with the same sense of comfort and connection at the heart of everything they serve.”
The menu is built on items that owners Rasool Sardar and Fahim Ghiacy call “American favorites”: smash burgers, subs and rice bowls. Many of Noosh’s offerings incorporate flavors from their Afghan roots, however, resulting in items like the Chapli Bowl and the Masala Chicken and Cheese.
Additionally, specialties offered at the eatery include hand-marinated grilled chicken and two signature sauces.
With today’s soft opening, the restaurant — located between the former Angie’s Restaurant spot and a Virginia ABC store — will be open daily from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
The addition of Noosh Grill brings the shopping center up to nine different places to grab a bite, ranging from dine-in eateries like Outback Steakhouse and Waraku Japanese Restaurant to quick options like Subway and Popeye’s, among others.
Twinbrooke Centre has also seen the addition of other tenants in recent months, including the youth soccer facility KidsUnited, which opened late last year.
