This year is shaking out to be a big one for Merrifield’s Mosaic District.
The shopping center, which houses a variety of businesses and restaurants, expects to add five more over the coming months, a spokesperson for EDENS — which operates the Mosaic District — told FFXnow.
Expected to open this spring is a custom candle business, as well as a brand offering “luxury home textiles.”
The D.C.-based District Candle Lab allows customers to peruse a wall of scents and, aided by a “candle tender,” they can create a custom, one-of-a-kind candle. The store will replace Lou Lou Boutique at 2910 District Avenue, Suite 130, after the accessory shop shuttered at the end of 2024.
A “leading designer and retailer of luxury home textiles,” Boll & Branch is establishing its first standalone store in Virginia. A variety of sheets, bedding, pillows and more will be available for purchase within the coming months at 2921 District Avenue, Suite 110.
Coming this summer are two previously reported new eateries: one a cafe, while the other focuses on artisan confections.
The Salty, a growing donut chain with nearly a dozen locations nationwide, will offer its unique flavors and “cragles” — a combination of a croissant and a bagel — at 2905 District Avenue, Suite 108, which formerly housed a Loyal Companion pet store.
The New York-based Maman, a chain of French-inspired cafes, is building out the former Oath Pizza location at 2920 District Avenue, Suite 150. There, the chain will sell coffees, pastries and much more.
Additionally, ZAKAA Couture — a bridal store — expects to set up shop soon at 2910 District Avenue, Suite 150, which formerly housed the Sophie Blake jewelry store.
All the upcoming additions will follow the arrivals of HiFi Tex-Mex BBQ (8298 Glass Alley) and the furniture store Herman Miller (2921 District Ave, suite 120), which both opened their doors in the mixed-use development earlier this year.
