A store focusing on one-of-a-kind creations is opening in Merrifield’s Mosaic District this weekend.
The grand opening for District Candle Lab and Fawne — a joint endeavor in one storefront — is scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday) at 2910 District Avenue, Unit 130.
The first 50 guests in line when the shops doors open at 11 a.m. will receive free “swag bags” as part of the festivities, while all shoppers on the first day will receive special one-day pricing on all purchases.
At the Mosaic District store, customers can utilize the store’s wall of scents and work with “candle-tenders” to create a custom, 100% soy candle.
Looking for jewelry? Customers can work with “charm baristas” to create custom chains that are both waterproof and hypoallergenic.
It will be the second brick-and-mortar space for the two brands, which made their debut last year in D.C.
“The popularity of these concepts has been beyond what we had dreamed of, and the idea we would have two shops in less than a year was unimaginable,” said Ferzan Jaeger, founder and co-owner of both brands. “Now we are thinking bigger, and we’re building plans for many more locations in and beyond our region.”
Following the store’s opening, it will be open daily from 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
Other retailers coming to the Merrifield neighborhood include the donut shop chain The Salty, furniture store Boll & Branch, the bakery Maman, and the bridal fashion store Zakaa Couture.
