Dogfish Head Alehouse is coming back to Fairfax County.

The craft brewery has leased a 7,550-square-foot space in Reston Town Center’s expansion for a new restaurant, its first in Virginia since closing locations in Seven Corners and Greenbriar Town Center two years ago.

Expected to open in the summer of 2026, Dogfish Head will be located at 11995 Inspiration Street on the second floor of the Marriott AC Hotel and Residence Inn building that began operations in January, according to a retail site plan.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dogfish Head Alehouse to Reston Town Center,” said Stephanie Friedman, vice president of leasing for property owner and developer BXP. “This is a prime example of the incredible relationships we’ve cultivated with retailers and restaurants on a national, regional and local scale. Dogfish is exactly what we envisioned for the space and reinforces our commitment to curating memorable experiences for our residents, office clients, and visitors.”

Owned by Viswa Vasireddy, whose Vienna restaurant Clarity is also coming to Reston Town Center, Dogfish Head carries drinks from the Delaware-based Dogfish Head Craft Brewery but is independently owned and operated under a licensing agreement.

The alehouse had been operating outposts in Seven Corners and Greenbriar Town Center for 15 years before deciding not to renew its leases there in 2023.

Co-owner Joe Hospital told Annandale Today at the time that the landlord at Seven Corners Shopping Center had raised the rent to the point where it was “unfeasible to run our business.” The standalone building is now home to Raising Cane’s, which opened last fall.

Like at the other locations, Reston’s Dogfish Head Alehouse will serve a full lineup of craft beers, along with a menu that includes burgers, pizzas, salads, smoked barbecue and other American pub food.

“Reston Town Center offers exactly what we were looking for in a new location — a dynamic, walkable community with a mix of residential, office, and retail that will support the growth of our business,” Vasireddy said in a press release. “We are excited to bring our distinctive craft beers and signature menu to Reston and are grateful to BXP for their partnership.”

Dogfish Head will join a growing lineup of retail slated for the Marriott building. The 34,000 square feet of commercial space will also be occupied by the Italian restaurant Grazie Nonna, Yunnan by Potomac Noodle House and Livewell Animal Hospital.

While Molly’s Dog Care is the only retail tenant currently open in the Reston Town Center expansion, the development known informally as RTC Next has also announced leases for Clarity, Toastique and Paris Baguette. Several spaces designated for restaurants, retail, a wellness business and a “specialty market” remain available, per the site plan.

The original town center has been busy lately too, welcoming Corsica Wine Bar and Kusshi Sushi last month with the Indian fusion restaurant Masti set to open tomorrow (Wednesday). In addition, BXP announced last week that it has leased over 51,000 square feet of office space to the human resources software company Workday.

At the same time, plans for a second phase of RTC Next continue to advance, securing the Fairfax County Planning Commission’s support on Sept. 17 ahead of a Board of Supervisors public hearing scheduled for Oct. 28.
