A new fitness option is coming to the Mosaic District.
Onelife Fitness will open a 53,000-square-foot health club in the Merrifield neighborhood next year, taking over most of the office space at 2910 District Avenue vacated earlier this year by the customized apparel brand Custom Ink.
“With over 32 local clubs spanning almost 2M square feet, Onelife Fitness is the go-to destination for people all over the DMV looking for a happier and healthier life,” Onelife Fitness CEO Ori Gorfine said in a press release. “We are thrilled to anchor the vibrant energy, upscale shops, and diverse neighborhoods of Fairfax’s Mosaic District and to continue investing in Northern Virginia.”
The announcement today (Wednesday) was foreshadowed by a Jan. 28 request for Fairfax County to verify that the commercial space could accommodate a “full service health club with pool, kids club and studios” under the site’s existing zoning and development plans.
The request indicated that the proposed health club would be 30,000 square feet in size with three swimming pools, but Onelife Fitness’ plans appear to have changed since then.
While no pools are mentioned, the Mosaic District facility will still offer a wide range of amenities, per the press release:
- Extensive strength training area with Olympic lifting platforms and free weights
- Large functional athletic turf training areas
- Top-of-the-line cardio equipment ranging from treadmills to ellipticals, rowers, stair climbers, and more
- Outdoor workout space with views of the vibrant Mosaic community
- Boutique-style fitness classes such as BodyPump, Zumba, and Interval training, including Les Mills classes and exclusive Signature classes only available at Onelife Fitness
- Holistic Mind & Body Studio with barre, yoga, and Pilates mat classes to nurture mental and physical well-being
- Exclusive Strike boxing studio where expert coaches lead a variety of classes that blend martial arts, boxing, and high-intensity fitness
- Advanced cycling studio for high-energy training
- Recovery Studio with HydroMassage, red light therapy, percussion therapy, and compression therapy for holistic recovery
- Inviting spaces designed for members to connect before or after workouts
- Luxurious spa-inspired locker rooms with saunas and more
This will be the 29th location in Virginia for Onelife Fitness, whose studios can currently be found in Burke, the Fair Oaks area, McLean, Reston and Tysons.
The Tysons location at 8250 Greensboro Drive is the subject of a redevelopment proposal submitted to Fairfax County in late February, but Onelife Fitness said at the time that it had no plans to close or move that site “for the foreseeable future.” The application, which calls for multifamily housing, is scheduled for public hearings before the planning commission and Board of Supervisors in early 2026.
Founded in 2011 and backed by the private equity investor 26North, Onelife Fitness claims to be one of the fastest growing health clubs on the East Coast with more than 70 total locations. The company offers a variety of classes, fitness training, recovery services and sports, though the amenities vary by location.
Molly Bance, senior vice president of leasing for Mosaic District property owner and manager Edens, said the developer is “proud to welcome Onelife Fitness to the Mosaic community.”
“As one of their premier locations, OneLife Fitness will bring incredible energy to the community, making Mosaic’s retail mix even more dynamic, in a neighborhood that balances connection with convenience,” Bance said.
Expected to open in late 2026, Onelife Fitness will join a handful of other fitness studios at the Mosaic District, which is also home to Bash Boxing, F45 and Solidcore.
Other retailers slated to open at the Mosaic District are The Salty, a donut shop that recently survived an eviction scare, and Hawkers Asian Street Food, though both have been cagey about potential opening dates.
