A French-inspired bakery and cafe chain is opening for business this week at the Reston Town Center.
The new Paris Baguette at 2004 Opportunity Way is holding a “soft opening” today (Wednesday), owner Farooq Siddiqui told FFXnow. The franchise offers dozens of sweet and savory pastries in addition to cakes, breads, sandwiches, coffee and seasonal drinks.
The new Paris Baguette can seat about 50 guests total, including room for some 20 customers on an outdoor patio at the ground floor of the Fannie Mae building.
After the soft opening phase, Siddiqui hopes to host a grand opening with specials within the next few weeks.
This is the Siddiqui family’s fifth Paris Baguette and second in Fairfax County, joining a franchise that opened at Herndon’s Arrowbrook Centre in 2023. Their other locations are in Leesburg, Sterling and Virginia Beach.
“When I stumbled upon Paris Baguette, I immediately fell in love with the quality and variety of its products and knew I wanted to bring it to my local community,” Farooq’s spouse, Alma Siddiqui, previously told FFXnow. “With a strong global reputation for high-end bakery café, Paris Baguette had a business model that would offer us great support throughout the process.”
Paris Baguette has opened nearly 260 locations across North America since its 1988 founding in South Korea. Another 500-plus stores were in development last fall, according to a press release.
That includes locations in Northern Virginia. Over the past two years, the franchise has introduced several new outposts across Fairfax County, Arlington and Alexandria.
The bakery-cafe is the latest addition to a growing landscape of retail and dining at the Reston Town Center. A lineup of more forthcoming eateries include Italian sister restaurants Grazie Nonna and Grazie Grazie, Yunnan by Potomac Noodle House and Clarity, which is aiming for a May opening.
Paris Baguette’s hours in Reston are 6 a.m.-9 p.m. daily.
