An entertainment company that combines indoor golf simulators with full-service food and drinks is coming to Tysons.
Five Iron Golf anticipates opening its first Virginia location in early 2027 at Capital One Center, where it will occupy approximately 17,000 square feet across two floors of the banking giant’s headquarters building at 1675 Capital One Drive.
“As we set out to bring the Five Iron brand to Northern Virginia, Capital One Center was exactly the kind of destination we had in mind for a flagship location — a place to build the brand in this market for the long term,” said Evan and Nicole Klatt, managing members of TheOwen Holdings, the franchise group bringing Five Iron Golf to the D.C. area.
Though this will be Five Iron’s first Virginia venue, the company introduced itself to D.C. in 2021 with a bar in Penn Quarter, and its Baltimore, Maryland location has been around since 2019, making it one of the oldest outposts.
Started in 2017 in New York City’s Flatiron District, hence the name, Five Iron Golf now has almost 50 locations across 20 states, along with a growing international reach in countries like Australia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Spain and the U.K.
The Klatts said in a press release that they were drawn to Capital One Center for its proximity to the McLean Metro station and mix of traffic from both Capital One employees and visitors looking to dine at one of the development’s restaurants or see a show at Capital One Hall.
“This location gives us a built-in community of golfers and non-golfers looking for a new way to spend an evening or a weekend,” they said.
The Tysons location will feature an outdoor terrace, high-tech Trackman simulators, and a full-service restaurant and bar. According to the press release:

Beyond open play, Five Iron offers professional instruction, club fittings, competitive leagues and its nationwide Five Iron Tournaments platform, which connects players across the country for real-money competition. The venue is equally designed for social occasions, including happy hours, watch parties, date nights, birthdays, and private and corporate events, with flexible simulator bays and lounge spaces that accommodate everything from a casual night out to large group gatherings. A menu of elevated bar fare, wood-fired pizzas, and specialty cocktails rounds out the experience, making Five Iron as much a social and hospitality destination as a place to play golf.
Located near Stellina Pizzeria and Ometeo, Five Iron Golf joins the Mediterranean restaurant La Omri as an upcoming addition to Capital One Center, which has been focusing recently on street-level attractions with new retail, food and arts festivals, and parks.

This addition continues to amplify Capital One Center as a destination in Northern Virginia for entertainment, dining, and the arts.”
As noted by the Washington Business Journal, which first reported Five Iron Golf’s Tysons plans, the company’s entry into Northern Virginia continues a spike in interest in the region by indoor golf entertainment brands.
Back Nine Golf has lined up locations in both Fairfax City and Reston Station, while NextVision Golf Club remains in the works in Merrifield. At the vanguard of the trend was CitySwing, which opened at Reston Town Center back in 2024.
Capital One Center visitors looking to test their putting skills in an outdoor environment will still be able to play a round at Perch Putt, the rooftop mini golf course on the 11th floor of Capital One Hall.
