Hawkley Brewing will open at noon at 257 Sunset Park Drive in the Sunset Business Park — the former space of Juicy Brewing Company, which closed last year.

After more than two years in business, Mackenzie’s Tunes & Tonics can finally live up to the first half of its name.

The bar and restaurant in Old Town Fairfax (3950 University Drive, Suite 210) can now host live music, a new chapter that it will commemorate with a ribbon-cutting at 4 p.m. today (Thursday) and a weekend of “special events.”

The Naisho Room, whose name includes the Japanese word for “secret,” announced today (Wednesday) that it is now operating inside The Watermark Hotel (1825 Capital One Drive) at Capital One Center.

A brewery that has achieved cult status in its home state of Pennsylvania hopes to soon cast the same spell on Fairfax County.

Voodoo Brewing Company will open a restaurant — its first in the D.C. region — at the Makers Rise apartment building near the Innovation Center Metro station, just outside Herndon, property developer Crimson Partners announced yesterday (Tuesday).

At Reston Town Center’s newest dining venue, customers will be able to munch on wagyu sliders and sip cocktails while looking over the Metro station 16 stories below.

SYN Rooftop Bar & Lounge, which takes its name from the Greek word for “together,” is set to open on the top floor of Marriott’s recently launched AC Hotel and Residence Inn (1975 Opportunity Way) this Saturday (March 1).

A man was arrested last week after reportedly harassing customers and staff at a Vienna pub over its Pride Month displays.

On Friday (June 28) night, a man walked off the street and began accosting patrons in Hawk & Griffin’s outdoor beer garden “because of our flags displayed for pride month,” the pub’s owners said the following day in a Facebook post.

Fairfax City is gearing up for its annual summer beer crawl this weekend.

The event, hosted by Fairfax City Economic Development, the Old Town Fairfax Business Association, and the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce, will take place this Saturday, June 22, from noon to 6 p.m.

Northern Virginia Magazine has unveiled the results of an extensive reader poll to determine the best spots for dining, shopping and entertainment in the region.

Fairfax County establishments came out on top in several categories, claiming the region’s best barbecue, Chinese and Korean food, water park, outdoor shopping district and more, according to the annual poll. The results were published online yesterday (Monday) after first appearing in print in the magazine’s June issue.

Capital One Center may be hopping on board with the modern-day “speakeasy” trend that continues to fascinate the D.C. area.

Capital One recently applied for a commercial alteration permit from Fairfax County that would allow for a “Watermark Speakeasy” on its headquarters campus in Tysons. The 1,500-square-foot bar would be located at the top of the 25-floor Watermark Hotel, adjacent to the fitness center, according to a building plan dated May 16.

The Washington Post is surveying its readers to find the best dive bar in the D.C. area, and the only Virginia establishment to make the final vote can be found in Fairfax County.

JV’s Restaurant in West Falls Church (6666 Arlington Blvd) is one of 12 finalists competing in the informal poll. Mostly located in D.C., the finalists rose to the top out of “dozens” of contenders submitted by “hundreds” of readers after the Post asked for favorite dive bars in March.
