A new Nothing Bundt Cakes is taking shape in Hybla Valley.
The nationwide chain of bakeries has a location “coming soon” to 7732E Richmond Highway in Mount Vernon Plaza, a corporate spokesperson confirmed to FFXnow.
The spokesperson said they were unable to share more specific details about the shop for now, including the franchise owners and a projected opening timeline, but a retail site plan for the shopping center shows that it will occupy an approximately 2,500-square-foot space between TJ Maxx and Buffalo Wild Wings.
“Each bakery is locally owned and operated, and we’re delighted to bring our signature Bundt Cakes to more neighborhoods,” Nothing Bundt said by email.
Founded in 1997, Nothing Bundt Cakes was the brainchild of two mothers who began baking the chain’s signature round cakes in their Las Vegas homes. The company has since grown to more than 840 locations across the U.S., according to its website.
Situated in the middle of the Richmond Highway corridor, the Hybla Valley location will be Nothing Bundt’s sixth in Fairfax County, joining outposts in Vienna, Herndon, Fair Lakes, Springfield and Seven Corners.
The bakery sells cakes in various sizes, from bite-sized bundtinis to multi-tiered cakes intended for weddings and other events.
Typically decorated with cream cheese frosting, the desserts come in 11 standard flavors: classic vanilla, lemon, carrot, strawberries and cream, confetti, cookies and cream, red velvet, chocolate chocolate chip and white chocolate raspberry, with chocolate chip and lemon raspberry as the two gluten-free options. Seasonal and limited-time flavors are often rotated in, such as an apple pie cake that’s currently available through Sunday (Sept. 27).
Stores also sell candles, balloons and other party supplies.
Until Nothing Bundt opens, Mount Vernon Plaza shoppers can satisfy their sweet tooth at Cold Stone Creamery, IHOP or the baked goods and bubble tea at Java Loco.
