Townhomes near Herndon Metro station slated for summer opening

A new development of four-story townhomes near the Herndon Metro station is slated for a summer opening.

Reston Arboretum, a development by Pulte Homes, will feature 40 townhomes with rooftop terraces near the intersection of Sunrise Valley Drive and Milburn Lane in Reston.

While price points have not been released, units are expected to start from the mid-$700,000s. Pulte’s website says the homes will be ready this summer.

Residents of the development are expected to become due-paying members under Reston Association, according to the association’s Acting CEO Larry Butler.

“The property will be subject to RA covenants and the developer has also provided a capital contribution to help RA with facility maintenance and improvements,” Butler said in a recent Reston Today video.

The completion date for the project has been delayed for several months. Pulte originally hoped to complete the project by late 2020.

The company did not immediately respond to a media inquiry.

Pulte previously proposed building 44 single-family attached residential units and a parking garage on the site. The four-story office building currently on the property at 12700 Sunrise Valley Drive is expected to remain.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
