In Fairfax City, Labor Day will coincide with the start of Summer Restaurant Week featuring Italian, Chinese, Caribbean and Mexican cuisines.

More than 25 restaurants will offer promotions to diners starting Monday, Sept. 2 through Sunday, Sept. 8.

Fairfax City has now been organizing restaurant weeks to promote its local culinary scene for seven years, though it didn’t expand the annual campaign to two weeks — one in the summer and one in the winter — until 2022.

As they did during this year’s Winter Restaurant Week, the participating restaurants will serve prix fixe menus at set prices of $25 for brunch or lunch and $40 for three-course prix fixe dinners. According to a press release, some specialty restaurants will also offer two-for-$10 deals.

Fairfax City Economic Development Director and CEO Christopher Bruno highlighted the city’s past success with Restaurant Week in a release.

“This event has grown considerably and has established Fairfax City as a premier dining destination while showcasing the community and its quality restauranteurs,” he said.

Participating restaurants include:

Baku Delicious, Commonwealth Brewing Co., Dolce Vita Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar, Draper’s Steak & Seafood, Earp’s Ordinary, El Pollo Rico, Hamrock’s Restaurant, Kelly’s Oyster House & Bar, Lil Italian Pizza, Meokja Meokja, ONE Bar & Grill, Okonomi Asian Grill, Ornery Beer Company, PJ Skidoos, Patriots Pub & Grill, The Auld Shebeen, The Commons Fooderie, The Wine House, Vivi Bubble Tea, Sichuan Legend Hotpot and Chinese Food, Bellissimo Restaurant, 54 Restaurant Bar & Lounge, Curry Mantra, Mackenzie’s Tunes & Tonics, Mama Chang, Ned’s New England Deck, Old Dominion Pizza

“Restaurant Week here in Fairfax City continues to grow and become even more inclusive of the local eateries that make our community so unique,” Fairfax City Mayor Catherine Read said in the release. “From the fine dining experience to pizza by the slice, we have something for everyone to try. There is a dish for every palate and an experience for every budget.”

The week is co-sponsored by the Fairfax City Economic Development, Old Town Fairfax Business Association and the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce. The committee that organized this year’s Restaurant Weeks is made up of representatives from those organizations in addition to the city’s restaurant owners and consultants.
