
The national stir-fry and salad chain honeygrow is continuing to nurture its Northern Virginia presence.
Honeygrow opened its fifth restaurant in the region today (Friday) at Old Keene Mill Shopping Center in West Springfield. Located at 8426 Old Keene Mill Road, the 2,500-square-foot space can be found on the Planet Fitness side of the strip mall, in between Massage Envy and Visionworks.
“We opened our first honeygrow in Virginia in 2018, and we’re thrilled to continue our expansion in the region,” honeygrow founder and CEO Justin Rosenberg said in a press release. “The Springfield location marks a milestone for the brand as our fifth in the state, with two more on the way this year.”
Founded in Philadelphia in 2012, honeygrow is a fast-casual chain that serves made-to-order stir-fry noodle and rice bowls, salads, and dessert cups with fruit, granola and other toppings.
The company now has more than 50 locations in the northeast and Midwest, including ones in Reston, Tysons, Fair Lakes and Hybla Valley at Mount Vernon Plaza.
Last month, Rosenberg confirmed that honeygrow has signed a lease for a storefront at Barcroft Plaza in Lincolnia, and another restaurant is in the works at Fair City Mall in Fairfax City, the shopping center’s landlord previously told FFXnow. Both of those locations are slated to open this year, according to honeygrow.
At Old Keene Mill Shopping Center, honeygrow joins a slew of new tenants added over the past year, including the hot chicken chain Crimson Coward, McAlister’s Deli, Zip Cleaners, Kanji Sushi, European Wax Center and Trader Joe’s. South Block is expected to open there later this year.
According to honeygrow, the West Springfield opening coincides with the addition of several seasonal spring offerings to the menu. Rolled out earlier this week, the dishes will be available for a limited time.
